We have listed some of the most common questions that we have been asked so far. If you have a question that isn’t listed, or the answer is not as you’d expect, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
My dog doesn’t get on with other dogs. Is day care the right thing for them?
The immediate answer is ‘yes’. Dogs are social animals. That said, nervous dogs will sometimes act aggressively. We are very happy to meet you and your dog and ease them into being around other dogs. We do have ‘quiet areas’ that they may prefer. A meeting would be advised to judge the suitability of your dog being with us. If your dog is regularly aggressive to other dogs or to certain breeds in the past then they are not suitable for this environment.
My dog is small / old / calmer. Will it be OK at The Doggy Lodge?
Yes. We have different areas for different natured dogs. They can come and go as they please and our visitors have access to all areas of The Doggy Lodge. Our staff watch out for dogs that may be displaying signs that they might not be ‘happy’, and they will be cared for appropriately. Come and visit us and see for yourself how we handle dogs like this.
Can you help with training and behavioural issues?
Yes. If there is a specific issue you would like help with or just general basic training, just ask. Each dog has its own needs and requirements as do their owners. We can help so please ask us how.
Will my dog come back filthy?
It will come back looking like it’s had a brilliant day out!, but not filthy. Your dog will be dry and relatively dirt free when you come and pick them up. Anything worse, then a visit to our onsite groomer’s bath will sort that out.
